PM’s Photo disappears from the CoWIN Certificate: Know Why!

It’s no surprise to see intelligent individuals frequently sharing their knowledge generously on social platforms like WhatsApp, which they consider to be a true democracy. The irony lies in the fact that even when they’re aware that the breaking news they share lacks accuracy, they take pride in their own foolishness simply because many others appreciate their views.

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you hear someone spouting absolute falsehoods, yet you choose to remain silent and continue listening, perhaps laughing about it later?

These same individuals often fail to grasp the true significance of someone’s position or responsibilities. Just imagine how distant they are from understanding roles like that of the Prime Minister. Criticizing and commenting without any understanding of the situation or action is characteristic of these self-proclaimed knowledge enthusiasts.

Before it gets even more awkward for the Prime Minister himself, here is why PM Modi’s photo was removed from Covid vaccine certificates!

Removal attributed to the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) in effect due to the Lok Sabha elections

The Union health ministry has implemented a significant alteration by removing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s picture from the CoWIN certificates issued during Covid-19 vaccinations. Initially, these certificates featured the Prime Minister’s image alongside the phrase, “Together, India will defeat COVID-19.” However, the current certificates only display the quoted phrase attributed to the Prime Minister, without his name or picture.

This change garnered attention after numerous social media users highlighted it. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare clarified that the Prime Minister’s photograph was taken down due to the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections.

This isn’t the first instance of Modi’s photograph being removed from vaccination certificates. During the 2022 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Manipur, and Goa, Modi’s photograph was similarly excluded from the certificates as mandated by the Election Commission.

In 2021, the display of Modi’s photograph on vaccination certificates had sparked controversy. A plea was filed in the Kerala High Court requesting its removal. However, Justice PV Kunhikrishnan questioned whether the petitioner was ashamed of the Prime Minister, emphasizing that he was elected by the people of the country.

Contrary to speculation linking the photograph’s removal to AstraZeneca’s acknowledgment of rare side effects of the Covishield vaccine or any other stories framed by the social media knowledge keepers, health officials clarified that this was not the case. The removal was solely attributed to the ongoing Model Code of Conduct (MCC) in effect due to the Lok Sabha elections.

If the Prime Minister or his authorities believe that the photograph is required in such certificates, you will see it again after the elections!
